Katie for Kids – A Chance for Change
I believe our schools should be a place where every child feels supported, valued, and prepared for their future. As a parent with four children in Carlsbad Municipal Schools — from PreK through middle school — I see firsthand the challenges our students, families, and teachers face.
Too often, decisions are made without truly listening to the people most affected: our kids, parents, and educators. We’re losing too many staff members, struggling to fill vacant positions, and watching families feel powerless in the process. My commitment is simple: to show up, to listen, and to act. I will be present on campuses, open to conversations with families and staff, and persistent in advocating for solutions that strengthen our schools. I don’t represent just one group — Katie for Kids means I’m here to stand up for all children in Carlsbad, because their success is our community’s success.
